Let the blog see the rabbit...

My brother introduced me to Jonathan Coulton's work today. In particular, he pointed me at "Re Your Brains", which I think should be adopted as the official anthem of Urban Dead :-) Another song appropriate for certain SUCS members is "Code Monkey"... enjoy!

My mum and I headed down to Priory Park at about 6:15 and were in time to catch Angelo Starr and The Team. Graham, Heather and Greg joined us a little later and Mark Flanagan, lead guitarist in Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, played next.

After he finished, I went and found the "Sausage Pit" laid on by a local restaurant and listened to a blues band who were set up next to the sausage tent under a gazebo while I queued.

Jools + orchestra came on stage at 8:30 and we made our way towards the stage where we had a pretty good view. Sam Brown sang with them, as did Ruby Turner. Sam sounded a bit out of breath on Valentine Moon, but it was great nonetheless.

Earlier in the day, I went to see my aunt to sort out some problems with her new laptop - her old one was stolen and she had a fair number of educational programmes to install on it as well as needing her USB pen drive fixed, which seems to have got corrupted somewhere along the line. Copying all the data off it and reformatting it seemed to do the trick.

Anyway, it's bedtime now, what with needing to go to clinic in the morning.

Last night, 4ft Pimp played at Chinnery's on Southend Seafront. It went well and I videoed most of it with my new camera. Towards the end, it kept giving "Recording Failure" messages and stopped recording until I switched it off and on again, which was annoying. However, I got a reasonable amount of footage and I'm working on an edit merging video of solos from the sound check into the evening performance.

Today, they played at The Rock Garden Gardening Club in Covent Garden. The PA system was infinitely better than those in Southend and Nick said he was a bit worried because people would be able to hear any mistakes. However, they played really well and again, I videoed it, this time with no complaints of Recording Failure from the camera. I think it might have been getting a bit too hot way up near the lights on the end of my dad's monopod yesterday

Anyway, it's nearly 11:30 and I've got to go to transplant clinic in the morning, so I suppose I ought to head in the direction of bed.
