Pizza

w00t! :-D

Anyone fancy a pizza? Well, I'm the bloke you need to see!

Google have just confirmed that I will be the official Pizza Ambassador for Swansea University for 2007. So expect to see me in the department real soon handing out pizza courtesy of Google.

Cheque

W00t! It's a little bit late (12 weeks, in fact) but I've finally received my cheque from Google! Isn't it pretty? Makes me feel like a real Google employee ^_^

Ok, enough self-delusion... I probably don't deserve it, being as I dropped off the programme. But when it takes 12 weeks to get your paycheques, is it really such a surprise..? *

Also, on the advice of Sits, I've learnt that Google are doing free hosting for open source projects at http://code.google.com/hosting/ with SVN, issue tracker, commit mail forwarding and http source browsing. Neato :-)

Summer of Code
"Congratulations! This email is being sent to inform you
that your application was accepted to take part in the
Summer of Code. Please check your student home
page in the SoC web app to determine which of your
applications was accepted".

W00t! I've been accepted onto the PyDev project for the Google Summer of Code!

PyDev is a plugin for the Eclipse IDE that allows users to code in Python and Jython. It'll be my job to work on their debugger and editor, bringing them up to the same standard as the Java equivalents.

Time for a victory dance!

It's official. I'm going to be next year's SUCS secretary! That's a title I should probably be careful with...

Friday night's party was great fun. Truth be known, I may have had a little bit too much to drink. But that seemed to entertain people, and I don't think I did/said anything permanently damaging.

We started the night off with some party snacks. "Nifties", an invention of Will's, were particularly good. Then we were off to Brynmill park to detonate some soggy fireworks and play on the swings.

After an hour of watching impotent explosives fizzle and pop, we returned to the house and had good argument about media players, before going upstairs and watching a decent amount of seasons 4 and 5 of Family Guy.I was fairly inebriated by this point, so I don't remember much, other than that they were very funny :)

Shortly after this Gimbo, Bash and Jo appeared, drank some mulled wine, and left, giving me a lift home in the process. I don't remember much of this, but Kate assures me I didn't know what my name was when I arrived (and promptly passed out).

Great fun!
