Re: Proposal: Howto events
I know its kinda late but if someone could get this set up for next year I'd definately be attending.
I'd quite like to learn some Python and really want to know how to use Linux. I know I could easily learn online but I think its much nicer having someone show you rather than reading a book or a website.
If someone could find the time and the effort to set up a few tutorial classes next year I'd be more than happy to redo the session for new members the year after.

Re: Proposal: Howto events
Hooray!
Well, I'm looking at setting up several different workshops for next year.
- An Introduction to SUCS, which we'll hopefully be running a couple of times a day in freshers' week - how to use your SUCS account, the computers in the room, milliways, jabber, etc etc.
- Installing Linux could possssibly be one on it's own right, but it's really not too tricky - so could be incorporated into:
- An Introduction to Linux.
I'd definately be up for running (or helping run) stuff, and it's great you're so enthusiastic to help out ![]()
Could possibly look at doing something with Python, too. I like Python ![]()
I'll let you know as soon as I've worked out some more ![]()
