SUCS Election for 2007/08

Manifesto: Grant

President

Hi all,

My name is Grant and I would like to run for the position of the SUCS
president this year. If you haven't closed the window already then
please read on to find out why nominating/voting for me would be a good
idea.

Firstly I plan to lower taxes, create more public holidays and reduce
our carbon emissions...ahem, yes.

Firstly, because I am in my second year and I believe I have sufficient
knowledge of the university and how things work. I am one of the class
reps for the level 2 Computer Science students so I have experience in
taking action when I receive enquiries from people.

I have experience in public speaking and giving presentations. I am also
skilled in writing persuasive letters so pestering the SU for more
monies to better the society wont be a problem ;)

I am confident that I could take on the responsibility of the other
members of the exec in their absence.

I think the society is currently the best society in the whole university.

Having joined several in my first year, SUCS was the only one I rejoined
the year after. The use of the room, along with the regular socials,
forum and milliways makes it great value for money and the best way to
make friends when you're new to the university.

So why I am I telling you all this when you already know it? Because I
plan to maintain this awesome status of the society and better it in any
way possible.

I want to arrange regular tutorial sessions on popular programming
languages to help people widen their range of experience in using
different languages.

The lightning talks are already a huge success and I'd definitely like
to keep these going with more and more volunteering to talk.

So that about sums it all up! I'd really like to be voted for this
position and am willing to put in a lot of time and effort to do the job
well so please vote for me!

Thanks.
Grant.

President
