First, catch your Mac Mini... Date: 04/09/07
Release the catches Date: 04/09/07 Turn the Mac Mini upside down and insert a thin blade between the aluminium case and the base. Push it down as far as you can, then carefully twist the bottom of the blade towards the middle of the machine to release the catches. Repeat this on each of the three aluminium sides.

Press the levers at either end of the DIMM socket... Date: 04/09/07

Untape the cable to the power switch Date: 04/09/07
Remove the three screws holding the plastic chassis to the base... Date: 04/09/07

Remove the chassis from the base... Date: 04/09/07

Unscrew the optical drive's... Date: 04/09/07
...six screws Date: 04/09/07
Gently pull the optial drive forward... Date: 04/09/07
...to disconnect it from the riser board... Date: 04/09/07
...exposing the hard drive Date: 04/09/07
Disconnect the riser board from the hard drive... Date: 04/09/07

Remove the screws holding the fan to the chassis: Date: 04/09/07

Remove the fan Date: 04/09/07
Untape the riser board from the hard drive Date: 04/09/07
Unscrew the hard drive from the chassis... Date: 04/09/07 Make sure that you support the drive while you do this - you don't want it dropping onto the table.

Remove your new drive from its bag... Date: 04/09/07
...then... Date: 04/09/07
...screw it to the chassis and replace the fan and the riser board Date: 04/09/07
Tape the cables from the riser board back to the hard drive Date: 04/09/07
Tape over the screwdriver access hole in the chassis to make it air-tight again Date: 04/09/07
Fit the optical drive again... Date: 04/09/07
...and don't forget to screw it in Date: 04/09/07 (including to the riser board)
Fit the chassis back into the base... Date: 04/09/07
...tape the power switch cable back in place... Date: 04/09/07
...and screw it in Date: 04/09/07
Fit the memory... Date: 04/09/07 Ensure that it is seated correctly and the levers on the socket are clicked into the RAM stick.
...and you're done! Date: 04/09/07
Now just push the lid back on. Date: 04/09/07
