Looking south from the southern end of platform 1 at Bridgwater station in Somerset. The double track Great Western mainline continues south from here towards Taunton, where it meets the West of England Main Line, and then on to Exeter (where the South West Main Line meets), Plymouth and Penzance.<br>
The set of points on the right meet a short length of line, now overgrown and disconnected at the far end, that served as a goods loop and access to a now partially-filled in disused bay platform adjacent to the present platform 2.
