The bottom (Hotwells) entrance to the Clifton Rocks Railway, a long disused funicular railway located entirely in a tunnel between the Clifton and Hotwells areas of Bristol that is currently being restored by volunteers.
This photograph was taken from the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the road in front of the station is the now very busy A4 Portway, the main route between the M5 motorway and Bristol city centre. As part of the restoration a new footbridge over the road linking to the first floor of the staiton and also the "Zig-Zag", a footpath that provides the only current way up the 280ft cliff.
