The top of the Clifton Rocks Railway, a long disused funicular railway located entirely in a tunnel between the Clifton and Hotwells areas of Bristol. The railway is currently being restored by volunteers.
This photograph was taken from the entrance to the top (Clifton) station. The Bristol Open Doors Day poster is hung on a brick wall built when the BBC used the by-then disused tunnels during the second world war. The two walls on the left and right, which are covered stairwells, also date from the post-operational period - there were originally four parallel tracks. The "car" is a lifesize mockup of the front end.
