The ticket hall at Kennington station on London Underground's Northern Line. The access to the platforms here is by lift rather than escalator, and rather than wait people often choose to descend the 79-step emergency stairs.
This station is the southern diverging point of the Charing Cross and Bank branches of the NOrthern Line, so the display screens detail the destination of the next four services from all four platforms. Note that clocks displayed beneath the screens are not keeping exactly the same time - the one on the right is 1 second ahead; this is not a trick of the photography, it is a single photograph taken with an exposure time of 1/25th of a second.
