Network Rail's track renewal train, consisting of 28 YXA wagons carrying around 3000 sleepers and 5 track replacement vehicles is hauled through Bridgwater station by Freightliner Class 66/6 locomotive 66622 en route to the worksite between Uphill Junction and Worle Junction in Weston-super-Mare. This was the last train to run through Bridgwater station before the line here was also closed for an engineering possesion.
This photograph shows the re-railing wagons at the rear of the train - the two wagons closest to the camera consist of a fixed portion and a unit that runs along over the top and over the sleeper wagons that deliver new sleepers to the rear of the train and carry the old sleepers back towards the front.
