Looking North along the Great Western Main Line from the A370 Bridgwater Road bridge at the southern edge of the Uphill area of Weston-super-Mare, the high bridge carries Bleadon Hill road over the railway. Uphill Junction, where the Weston-super-Mare loop diverges from the mainline, is a short distance beyond the bridge in the distance. The line was closed for the first day of a week-long engineering possesion between Worle Junction in the northern suburbs of Weston-super-Mare and Cogload Junction north of Taunton.
The trackworkers appear to be inspecting the line in advance of track replacement - the Network Rail track replacement train was working north from Uphill Junction.
