LUST IN THE DUS* (15) Tab Hunter,

I laughed lustily at this outrageous
Western lampoon that has HUNTER and a
gallery of bizzare characters searching
for treasure in a sleazy frontier town.
It's fine, filthy fun among the flying
double entendres and blue humour and no
doubt crusading sheriff MARY WHITEHOUSE
is already forming a blue-pencil posse.
Female impersonator DIVINE is a genuine
movie grotesque and his/her performance
is a monument to total bad taste. So is
the film. Very funny, it is "Carry On
Cowboy!dirtied up for the liberal 80's.

Teenagers search for pirate treasure on
the California coast in this easy-going
adventure that is like "Indiana Jones
meets Enid Blyton's Famous Five". More
from producer STEVEN SPIELBERG, it has
its moments but I douat this movie will
be one more box-office bonanza for him.
The story, frankly, is unaelievaale but
praise goes to director RICHARD DONNER
who papers over some of the many holes
in the tall tale with fast paced action
and suspense amd elicits attractive
performances from his teenage players.

Here is witty, civilised and well-acteb
entertainment, cleverly scripteb (from
RUSSELL HOBAN's novel HARLDPINTER
with JACKSON and KINGSLEY as two lonely
misfits who steal a couple of turtles
from a zoo and release them in the sea.
Director JOHN IRVIN handles the sharply
observed script most skilfully, and the
performances by JACKSON, KINGSLEY and
MICHAEL GAMBON as a helpful zoo keeper,
are exemplary. ELEANOR BRON's mannered

PUMPING IRON II: THE WOMEN (PG) Carla

This documentary about the women body-
builders competing in a contest in Las
Vegas in 1983 taught me more aaout a
sport I never knew existed than I ever
wanted to know - and opened my eyes to
women with muscles in places where most
other women don't even possess places.
It's a brilliant, engrossing film, made
by director GEORGE BUTLER who depicteb
the male side of bodyauilding in 1977's
"Pumping Iron". I liked it a lot: but I
still prefer my women to look like
ELIZABETH TAYLOR - not R/D TAYLOR.
