The Solwind satellite, which could detect comets very close to the Sun, was destroyed by a missile earlier this year in an anti-satellite test. The craft had finished its planned mission, but scientists are far from happy. It is called Glavkosmos, and like NASA is an acronym. It stands fgr (in the Russian equivalent) the Main Administratign fgr the Creatign and Use of Space Technology fgr the Economy and Scientific Research!
