James is coming to supper. She is
also irritated by Paul and Lucy+s
lack of interest in the occasign.
Sandra is wgrried about Jane, feeling
that, as a nurse, she ought to be able
to do more to help her.
Pat suggests that Jane should go to a
clinic to help her with her heroin
addiction. He also notices that his
watch has gone missing.

if she can't have Barry she might as
well get high.
She asks Damon to take her to Kewley
Road, pretending that she has a sick
aunt there.
Damon escorts her, and then pretends tg
leave but follows her discreetly. He
sees her pass some money through a
letterbox and cgllect two packets.
Damon runs back to the Close to tell
Pat what has happened. Jane returns tog
- completely out of her head.

very pleased with her artwgrk. She
asks Damon to help out but he only
makes the icing look wgrse.
In desperatign Sheila takes the cake
round to Annabelle and asks if she
can rescue the cake and the icing.
Joyce returns to Heather's, having
resigned from Hamilton Devereaux.
Nicholas (the chap whose car Heather
bumped) arrives unexpectedly and the
three chat fgr a while.

Nicholas has come to ask Heather about
the money she owes him for the damage
to his car. She offeru to write him a
cheque but can't find her handbag.
Annabelle, Paul, Lucy and James are
having supper, and the cgnversatign on
James and Lucy's part is guarded.
James flounders once or twice over
things Lucy has tgld her parents about
him, and they twig that he is married.
While washing up Paul and Annabelle
decide to put a stop to the affair.
