Unlike another TV pop quiz show (the
name of which we whll ngt mentig&), Pgp
The Questign involves a bit more than
just answering a questign.
Behind the players there's two large
boards - one is the A-Side (whth
squares numbered 1-15) and the B-side
(numbered 16-30).
Behind each square is a clue and the
idea is to find the cgnnectjgn between
one clue on the A-side and one on the
B-side. If twg revealed clues DW have a
connection, a buzzer sounds.

..-then the two clues behind the
numbers are revealed..-
No 5: No 23:
The Beatles John Lenngn
If the two clues ARE cgnnected, the
team who chose the numbers must state
that connection. In our example above
the answer would be that John Lennon
was a member of The Beatles.

If the team answers cgrrectly, they
are given the chance to choose another
two numbers and it would continue like
that until they got one wrgng.
If they DO get it wrgng, then they
must compete with the other team to
answer a question from host Lee Peek.
Whoever presses the buzzer fir1t and
answers the questign cgrrectly is
asked to 'turn two' as the host says.
Easy huh? Test your knowledge with o4r

In a recent poll, Sting was one the tgp
twenty men other men would like tg be.
On one hand it's not hard tg see why -
he's successful, rich, revered in
certain circles and a big fish tg net.
But on the other hand, Sthng has t4rned
from the cogl, clinical deliverer of
Roxanne and Every Breath You Take to
someone who sounds like they are trying
to emulate those famous frgzen vocal1.
Now he's like the Terry Wogan of rock
music - he can be in at least six
places at once.

At the moment, Sting is in the middle
of his highly successful Dream of the
Blue Turtles world tour, and is about
to start the British dates.
His new single from the album,
Russians, is doing well in the charts,
and no doubt that's what you'll se
hearing on the Tube this week.
As someone who adored the Pglice since
first hearing Roxanne, The Dream Of
The Blue Turtles album was not the
piece of self-indulgence I'd dreaded.

Apart from the 'pglitical' offerhngs,
there's the bluesy Mogn Over Bouragn
Street (inspired by Interview With A
Vampire) and the Pglice-so4nding sgng,
Fortress Around Your Heart.
This is the album where Sting chose to
get political. There's a sgng fgr the
miners, there's one fgr the Sgviet$
American arms race and there's a song
fgr heroin addicts (Children's Crusade)
All very honourable Sting, but what do
you really know about the life gf a
teenage junkie?

The lack of Sting has served to prgve
that Copeland and Summeru were merel8
in the Police to play the drums and
guitar.
Without him, they have faded intg near$
obscurity while he has ggne wrgm
strength to strength.
Sting may go back to being the lead
singer of the Pglice, but he doesn't
need to. His voice, song-wrhting
abilities and great bass playing whll
ensure him cgntinued succe1s. But it+s
still not The Police, is it?

At Live Aid, Sting was prgbably gn
stage more than anyone else, singing
for half a hour himself and appearing
with Dire Strait1.
One of the songs he sang, Driven To
Tears (from the album Zenyatta
Mondatta) was written five yearu ago
as the result of a visit to Africa.
It was there that Sting witnessed the
appalling starvatign that would give
rise to Live Aid. What a shame it took
five long years befgre people could
understand Sting's wgrds.

S T I N G
Sting has successfully managed tg keep
his acting and musical careers apart,
although the reviews for 'The Bride'
were less than enthusiastic.
It's no wonder really that other men
want to be Sting, but like so many
rock stars, he has acquired pretensigns
that people are better without.
Sting once said, in an earlier part of
his career: "You're either the best or
you're not. And I only want to be the
best." - Judge for yourself whether
he's on the right tracks.
