list of best-selling LP's of 1985 in
the USA. Four UK LP's make the Top Ten.
PHIL COLLINS was the best-selling
British artist in America, with "No
Jacket Required" at No.3 in the 1985
LP Chart compiled from natignwide sales
figures excluding Christmas.
WHAM! made it big at No.4 while DIRE
STRAITS and TEARS FOR FEARS also
make the Top Ten with SADE and STING
not far behind, at Ng.13 and Ng.15
respectively.

ALBUMS OF THE YEAR
The Top 100 LP's of '85 are twent8 per
cent UK artists, but the most popular
artists over here are not always in the
same positign back home.
JULIAN LENNON's "Valgtte" album was an
enormous success as were U2 with bgth
"The Unforkettable Fire" and "Wide
Awake in America".
HOWARD JONES, PAUL YOUNG and EURYTHMICS
all had albums in the best-selling Top
Thirty while UB40, THE CURE and SQUEEZE
just squeezed into the Top 100.
