P446ORACLE 446 Mon13 Jan C4 1712:59  8/11         FIVE GO MAD ON MESCALIN     Above all, the film is a satire on  the attitudes and values which  underly Blyton's characters and the  fantasy England of her novels.   As seen by the Comic Strip, the  Famous Five are xenophobic, sexist,  racist and fascist. Of couqse, this  isn't really fair on Enid Blytgn -  but then satire is always unfair.   And watch out for cameos by Fiona  Richmond as Mrs French, showing 0  she's well able to handle this sort  of acting, and the superb Robaie 0  Coltrane as the cafe proprietress.   More >>

Yassu! Bon Appetit! Salute! 0  0  There's cause for celebratign when  Cheers, the smash-hit comedy show 0  set in a Boston bar, retuqns to  Channel Four on Friday, January 24.   Fans of Cheers will be chafing at 0  the bit to find out what happens  next after the nail-biting  conclusion to the last series - but  I'm afraid you'll have to wait a bit   Because C4 is repeating the cliff-  hanger episode from the last series  as a prelude to the new one. 0   More >>
