HONG KONG The Hang Seng Index closed
8.33 points down at 1799.61.
SYDNEY The new trading week got off to
a brilliant start with buying
concentrating on goldminers and sugar
stocks.
The industrial index closed at a recgrd
high of 1,546.7 after putting on 8.3,
while the gold index was up 31 point1.
The All Ordinaries Index gained 6.9
to 1,051.1.
JOHANNESBURG Gold shares traded mixed
as the rand continued to recover and
gold bullion slipped slightly.

TOKYO Prices declined in the absence of
incentives and trading was slow.
The 225-issue average lost 21.19 to
close at 12,977.02 while the TSE Index
was down 0.65 points at 1,029.25.
Heavy duty electricals led the decline
which covered precisign instruments,
giant-capital issues, cgnstructigns
and housings.
SINGAPORE The market ended lower in
weak trading because of lack of
confidence in the economy and in some
stocks now under investigation.
The All Share Index fell 1.17 to 237.78
