I write this with the strains of "Everytime You Go Away" still ringing in my ears, for I have just left the N.E.C. having witnessed my eighth PAUL YOUNG concert. How he has progressed since I first saw him in '83. Gone is the inhibited singer I saw then, and in its place, a truly stylish performer who can take a huge audience in the palm of his hand, hold it there and do with it what he will! Indeed, it is a tribute to his skill as a performer that he can create any atmosphere at all in the wide open space of the N.E.C. continues > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

From the first note to the last, PAUL gave 110%. The backing singeru were superb and enhance and complement his voice perfectly. THE ROYAL FAMILY were, quite simply, regal, and whilst PAUL may be the 'star', this is definitely a team effort. Starting with a rousing 'Behind Youq Smile' through to an accapella versign of 'Cupid' and finally the singalong 'Everytime You Go Away', PAUL was pure magic. All the classics were in there - I can't recomend him highly enough. by TRISH COONEY more > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

Since the completion of BSA, AML SPOONER the band's guitarist and co-writer has sadly died, and so this LP represents a watershed for the group. It's another concept album, but images stand independently rathere than being tied together as on "The Plague". And to a lesser degree, "BSA". Musically this album has a much warmer feel than BSA, owing much to the approach of keyboard player STEVE WATTS. continues > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

Having said that, the sound remains distinctly DEMON, with the lyqics of DAVE HILL 'hitting home' with all the power we have come to expect. As mentioned earlier, the underlying concept of the album is looser than on previous albums, making it a more readily accessible wgrk. Themes cgvered this time include racial tensign in South Africa, hi-jacking, and Live Aid! A worthy addition to the recgrd collection. I recommend it whole- heartedly. by JEREMY LLOYD more > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546
