GEC OPENS LEGAL ACTION
AGAINST PLESSEY
Following telecommunications group
Plessey's decision to go to law against
GEC in the US, GEC is now to sue
Plessey for libel under English law.
GEC is also joining Sir John Clarke and
two other Plessey directors in the
action which follows comments made in
a defence circular.
Plessey is battling to fend off an
unwelcome £2bn bid from the electrgnics
giant which started last year after a
gentlemanly approach on a possible link
A US court last week found for GEC in
an action on Plessey's US shareholders.
