The Making Of A Superstar
by SARAH RANDALL
Most bodies as the damned river held,
hers has that sheer energy of motion.
Dressed up in unforced sensuality.
Anonymous devotion,
dissolving all reality
Kissing the world with those red
painted lips,
she will leave your aching arms
outstretched.
Dance upon your well bruised heart.
Her freedom driving you into empty
corners.

The Making Of A Superstar
What lies beneath the satin sheets of
her pale blue eyes?
More mind than Marilyn.
For if she falls a million times,
She will get up again over and over.
Has twisted all their hearts,
wrung out each last drop of blogd.
She had the makings of a superstar,
milked them for all she could.
From behind dark glasses,
a well lit world she can touch
Who would criticise their drive,
but those with burnt fingers.

The Making Of A Superstar
If I could tramp throughout her mind.
Leave a footprint on a point or
vulnerabilit8,
pierce the watery mask of beauty.
Read the reflections in her naked eyes,
realise her.
Ever reaching into New York skies,
She contains something, someone
that can possess your soul.
Has lifted her above those streets,
now flooded with sweet laughter.
She strung their hearts to this new
beat.
Left you dancing on your own,
head drowned in her.

HOWARD JONES Live at the NEC
Having already seen HOWARD JONES twice
before, I didn't realise that it was
possible for him to make his live show
any better. But I was definitely in fgr
a (pleasant) surprise, when I went to
the NEC for "The Last World Dream".
HOWARD has such great vitality which he
brings out to the full at his gigs.
Even though it can't be much fun being
constantly followed by video cameramen,
he even managed to incorporate this
into the show taking control of the
camera on several occasions.

HOWARD JONES Live at the NEC
Song-wise, "Hunger For The Flesh",
"Bounce Right Back" (both with the
brilliant JED HOILE) and "Hide And
Seek" (HOWARD's personal favourite)
were especially good and my three
favourite live songs.
Unfortunately, he's changed his set
since last year (the beginning of the
same tour) when he included more of the
songs from "Human's Lib". But with a
repertoire as good as his, those he
played certainly made up for those he
missed out. A really good pre-Christmas
pressie. Can't wait for the next one!
