BEJAM SNAPS UP
TESCO OFFSHOOT
Bejam, the freezer food people, are
buying the Victor Value division of
Tesco for £5.025m.
The business trades from 45 branches in
the North-West, Midlands and London
area as a limited range grocery
discount operation.
Bejam directors estimate that plant,
fixtures and fittings have a value in
excess of £10m and goodwill of £4m.
Tesco says the sale will enable it to
concentrate on development of its

MANAGEMENT BUY-OUT
AT IDEAL
Scottish kitchen manufacturers Ideal
Timber Products has been bought out by
management for an undisclosed sum from
the Comet group, part of Woolworth.
The buy-out puts the firm in the hands
of managing director James Nimmo and
four fellow directors.
He forecast no major change in the
company's operations and no reduction
in the 250 workforce at Dumbarton.
The deal includes the Dumbarton plant
and equipment, the "English Rose"
production unit at Clydebank and the
"First Avenue" chain of shops.
