MR. MISTER IN FOR A SHOCK!
US band Mr.MISTER play their first UK
gig at the prestigious West End venue
The Marquee on Thursday of next week.
But having just finished a stadium tour
of America with TINA TURNER, the size
of the infamous London Club may come as
a bit of a shock to the band.
"I don't think they've ever played
anywhere quite so small, a spokesperson
from their UK office told me. "I've
tried to explain to them how small the
place is, because they're used to
playing to tens of thousands at a
time!" Should be interesting. more >

THE SPLUTTER
The Splutter is a fanzine put together
by DAVID BLOCKSIDGE of Manchester (with
a little help from his friends), and
which concentrates on what one might
loosely call Independent label acts.
Issue two, which DAVID kindly sent us,
features articles on THE CHAMELEONS,
BOGSHED and THE MEMBRANES, to mention
a few, and costs a mere 20p. Which is
why I won't complain about the fact
that it's dead hard to read, because
it's so full! Interested? Send 20p plus
an SAE to: 26 Lyon Grove, Roe Green,
Manchester M28 4RH. more follows >

CHARLIE SEXTON
Seventeen year old guitar wizard
CHARLIE SEXTON is fast making a name
for himself over here. SEXTON thrilled
select UK audiences last weekend with a
performance on The Tube followed by a
stunning showcase gig at London's
Marquee Club at which the young Texan
demonstrated why the likes of BOB DYLAN
and DON HENLY are convinced the boy is
destined for stardom.
CHARLIE is currently in the UK
promoting his single "Beat's so
Lonely". Watch out for a BSVs interview
with CHARLIE later this week. more >
