TONIGHT at 8.00pm
It is the day of Billy Corkhill's
hearing at the court, and he is still
determined to remain silent and plead
guilty. He expects nothing worse than
a fine or suspended sentence.
However, in court his silence and lack
of representation is not accepted and a
report from the Probation Officer is
requested.
The Officer interviews Billy, who
continues to say nothing. When this is
reported to the court the Magistrate
sentences Billy to three months in
prison.

Billy and Doreen are horrified by the
sentence and Doreen reacts by screaming
out the truth about Tracy and Montague
to the whole court.
It is too late, and Billy tries to
stop her, but he is forcibly hauled
out from the court. The magistrates
summon the Duty Solicitor.
Meanwhile, back at the Close, Harold
and Ralph start shortlisting the
replies to their advertisement. They
choose Madge Richmond and set up a
meeting between her and Harold.

Keith tells Heather she has been
removed from the Turner audit to free
her to go to Aberdeen. She is furious,
but agrees to go.
Karen Grant tells Guy that she intends
to interview Paula Yates, who is coming
to judge the floats in the Panto Parade
The student paper refuses Karen the
assignment, but she decides to go ahead
and do the interview anyway. Guy hints
that he has ways of making the student
paper magnates change their minds...
