Our computers all run a version of UNIX, normally Linux, which is a mainly text based operating system, although don't let that put you off joining, we run tutorials to tell you how to do things and give you some documentation to tell you how to get started.

SUCS (sucs.swansea.ac.uk)

This computer is a 486 and this computer is mainly used for administration work and it forms the router for our sub network, we perfer users to use the other machiens, but we have not restricted access. It currently has Redhat Linux 4,0 installed.

Galaxy (galaxy.sucs.swan.ac.uk)

This is the oldest and most respected of our machines, we push this little 386 to the limits and beyond, we have bolted loads of bits onto it, I believe that some one has even painted go fatser stripes on it! (joke). This computer is mainly used by user to check their mail and to use our BBS (Milli-ways)

Sunrise (sunrise.swan.ac.uk)

This computer is a sun sparc and has recently recieved a new operating system on it (Redhat 4.1 sparc Linux) and is commonly used by a number of our users, inparticular we have the lastest version of tinyfuge (tf) running enabling people to play muds.
