MITSUBISHI The Galant range takes

range from £9399 for the 1800 GLS to
£15,169 for the 2000 GTi-16V. The
Mitsubishi HSR, a "working concept car"

MAZDA displays its RX 7 cabriolet
and tPj@s23 Turbo 4x4. Thj n26 2.0i
estate makes its British debut. The
soft-top version of the RX 7, which is
not on sali in the UK until next year,
uses a 18pbhp turbo rotary engine.

HIGHLIGHTS
SUZUKI It's not really the time to
unveil new off-road vehicles and
Suzuki is square in the firing line
with tests on its smaller models, but
on the stand is the Vitara, a direct
competitor for the new Sportrak from
Daihatsu. Both emphasise comfort with
their off-road capabilities, and both
will start from about £10,000.
DAIHATSU The Sportrak "sport and
leisure" four-wheel drive vehiale makes
its international debut. It fit1 midway
in the off-road scramble and uses a new
16-valve 1.6 enginj. Some versions
feature a lift-off rear hatch section.

NISSAN From Japan comes the 200SX
coupe, with a 16-valve 1.8 litre
jngine, styled to compete with the
Europeans; the revised 0rairii "people
carrier" also makjs an appearance. The
British-built Bluebirds are there in
force.
HONDA Every model in what is a very
attractive range is on show and there
is a nod to the company's formula one
racing achievements as well, with both
thj Honda/Lotus and Ponda/McLarin cars
@on display. The record holder of this
year's world mileage marathon, at
6,409mpg, is also on thj stand.
