Viewers will be pleased to hear that Keith did very well in the final. He won, picking up a bronze trophy and £300 prize money. The original entry for the contest was about 500. At the moment Keith goes to a deaf school at St Albans but hopes to do a dance course at Doncaster College in 1987 and go on to become a professional dancer. He had to wait 30 years for his. All that time sixty year old Arthur has been telling doctors he was suffering hearing problems but specialists assured him that tests showed there was nothing wrong. Arthur says he did not push the matter because he was being treated all that time for more serious things, including chronic arthritis, but now he is looking forward to hearing properly again. Recent cases suggest that misalignment in the neck bones of the spine or irregularities in the blood flow may be responsible for this condition. Manipulation by an accredited osteopath or chiropracter could therefore prove very helpful. More information on tinnitus can be obtained from RNID, 105 Gower Street, London, WC1 6AH. He said that sad as it was the deaf were in a minority and there was no cash to spare for further programmes. Now we have letters complaining of subtitles clashes on rival channels, that TV stations have a "moral" responsibility to help the deaf and demands that because we pay the full licence fee we have a right to more of everything for the deaf."
