We were the crowd of frustrated idealists longing to change the world, and then there was this man, you see. No ordinary man, but the unique, towering Scotsman, the unlikely hero sporting a beard, the one we call FISH. For he was the one we call FISH. For he was the one who punched us with emotion and dragged us from tears to laughter and back a thousand times that night. continues > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

We despaired at the lost loves of "Jigsaw" and "Kayleigh", whilst the band wove their magic and captured our hearts. We were the bitter pessimists in "Blind Curve" and "Fugazi" but we always come up fighting because we are "Market Square Heroes" and we have no "Childhood's End". continues > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

This band evoke thought, pain, ecstasy, they breed legends and peacemakers and produce glory from their brilliance. You want to change the world? You had resigned yourself to die a broken rebel But you were looking backward Now you've seen the light! The light is MARILLION and this is just the beginning! by LEE GREGORY. more > BSVs Index - 540 Starfile - 546

I only recently heard "Flip" on The Tube and bought the album afterwards, but I did not expect this. No support band and NILS was on stage at 19.45. It was a brilliant concert. LOFGREN is an underrated guitar-playing genius, and his band comprised excellent session musicians. One highlight of the concert was when highly fit LOFGREN did some breakdancing in the middle of "Flip" and at the end he did a somersault backwards off his springboard. continues > BSVs Index 540 Starfile 546

There were more surprises as he sung his version of JOHN LENNON's "War Is Over" Christmas song , played his brother's guitar while TOMMY LOFGREN played NILS's (without swapping guitars) and even came off stage to sing among the audience. The concert lasted nearly three hours and put to shame most headlining bands that can only muster about 1½ hours of music. It was good of NILS to play Guildford on his world tour, and with the state of the charts as it is at the moment; NILS, come back soon. by MARK R.HARRINGTON more > BSVs Index 540 Starfile 546
