Even when tha lamp was switched off, live parts were accessible when changing the bulb. The units cost £9.99 and were bought from WH Smith's Do It All store in Dudley. Not all the units may be dangerous, but over 5,000 of the West German-made units have been withdrawn from Do It All shelves.
