They have made up on that ground, so that now it is safe to say that British and European appliances are now equally reliable. It is worth remembering that machines with a British brand name may well have been manufactured abroad, so it's not always easy to tell where they've come from. more follows > Home File Index 480 Fit & Well 485 ORACLE SMALL BUSINESS SECTION 492

Zanussi needed fewer visits, on average, to complete the repair ─ 9 out of 10 were completed first time. AEG, Philips and Service were slower. Although AEG did well on reliability, they took longer to make the call and only fixed 6 out of 10 repairs after their first visit. more follows > Consumer Index 480 Fit & Well 485 Bargain offer from Marvel * 184 ITV

Electrolux vacuum cleaners emerged as more reliable than Hoover ─ the two most popular brands. Creda came out bottom of the list for washing machines, but top for tumble driers, making a stacking set of both from them a difficult choice! more follows > Home File Index 480 Fit & Well 485 Bargain Travel British Rail 125

Freezers and microwaves are now quite reliable and TVs have improved greatly over the last five years. It's a shame that washing machines and dishwashers don't have such a good record. There is also some room for improvement when it comes to repairs. Maintenance contracts are generally not worth the expense. More Here's How News on Tuesday Home File Index 480 Fit & Well 485
