Car Trouble - The Original Soundtrack
by Various Artists (Chrysalis)
Another album-of-the-film, this time
devoted to promoting those artists on
the Chrysalis label who, the company
feel, ought to be doing better than
they are.
There are some big names there too, of
course. BILLY IDOL does a weak version
of TOMMY JAMES' sixties classic "Mony
Mony", LEO SAYER does a ridiculous up-
dated version of "Unchained Melody"
and, the only hit on the album, DAVID
GRANT and JAKI GRAHAM's "Mated" sounds
ridiculously out of place.

Car Trouble - The Original Soundtrack
by Various Artists (Chrysalis)
While you can understand a record
company using a movie to help promote
their bands, there are some bands to
whom being included in such a tacky
compilation must constitute some sort
of insult.
THE ADVENTURES, a grossly underrated
band, two of whose tracks feature here
deserve more than to be stuck to the
same piece of vinyl as LEO SAYER.
Better handling of talent like that and
there'd be no need for compilations
like these.
