The Bell companies both improved though and other industrials also turned better so that by the close the All- Ordinaries index was up 1.4 at 1048.5. SINGAPORE The market closed lower after a session which saw small-time traders taking profits from the recent string of rises. Falls well outnumbered gains and the All-Share fell 1.46 to 225.70.
