Conservation Projects in Wales
Many ancient crafts and skills are
being kept alive in parts of Wales by
the British Trust for Conservation
Volunteers.
Harley Thomas, Wales' BTCV Regional
Officer will be giving an illustrated
talk on the work of the trust from
Snowdon to Swansea, to the Montgomery
Trust for Nature Conservation.
The talk, which will take place in the
Royal Oak Hotel, Welshpool on March 4,
starts at 7.30pm. All welcome.

The Chiltern Society has now pualished
its second annual report outlining the
advice and assistance available to
woodland owners in the Chilterns.
The Small Woodlands Project uses its
Manpower Services Commission team to
help improve woodlands for amenity,
nature conservation and timber.

watch groups, is surveying the breeding
sites of all types of amphibian in the
county.
Information wanted includes: Where seen
(Map ref.); type of site (wild, garden
etc); and how much. Sightings of adults
would also be a help.
