In one sense I'm very glad that I don't have a huge number of diary entries. Even though I used wonderful vim macros and regex substitutions to take a bit of the work out of marking up my diary, it has still take a long time.

Went over to Dave (Little)'s house and watched Fight Club. Good movie that, with one of those twists that forces you to re-evaluate the movie up until that point. I wonder if they have given a genre name to these "twist" movies yet?

Began work on my XML based diary (with any luck you will be reading the HTML/XML with stylesheet/Whatever fancy markup we use now version of it. It consists of a hierarchy to keep things tidy.

Phew. Marking up text is actually a darn sight more difficult than it looks. The main problem with my diary was that most of it hadn't been marked up and those parts which had weren't all that consistent. Hopefully if another change is needed it won't be so painful next time.

Due to an unfortunate lapse of concentration, I failed to realise that when I phoned up to ask about film times for the Odeon cinema in centre of Bristol I actually asked for the ones in Weston-super-mare. I blame the gimmicky voice recognition system - Weston was spoken as the example and in my annoyance at having to actually speak the cinema I wanted rather than being put straight through I mindlessly repeated it.

This oversight lead to me having to run across Bristol city centre and up to another cinema in order to catch Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within before it started.

Just before the above madness ensued I bumped into Rowland Webb - a friend from back at school that I haven't seen in years. Had a nice chat to him about what some of the pupils from BGS are doing now.

Went to see the Jackie Chan movie vehicle that is Rush Hour 2 at the cinema. Somehow it seems neither as funny nor as well paced as the original. However there were some entertaining bomb scenes.
